Overview
The Laboratory Performance Manager leads QC laboratory performance activities, identifying and delivering Continuous Improvement programmes, supporting the laboratory operations director with scheduling, capacity modelling, and ensuring inspection readiness. The role champions GPS implementation and drives initiatives aligned with laboratory operating leverage objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and deliver on laboratory performance goals within the QC function.
- Act as an effective change agent, implementing performance improvements aligned with site objectives and global QC initiatives.
- Champion GPS deployment and support implementation and sustaining of GPS standards across laboratories.
- Support the laboratory operations director in driving performance improvements through management of lab compliance activities and capacity modelling.
- Identify and implement effective tracking and trending of key performance metrics.
- Represent the Barnard Castle laboratory team in global forums to share best practice examples.
- Support the Laboratory Operations Director in maintaining a green productivity, performance, and QC compliance dashboard.
- Deliver improvement activities aligned to laboratory operating leverage initiatives.
- Support site GMP inspections as required.
Basic Qualifications & Skills
- Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Working knowledge of the specific sciences used in a laboratory, enabling continuous improvement activities such as method optimisation and new equipment adoption.
- Experience within the pharmaceutical industry, including management experience.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Certification in DMAIC methodology and/or orange belt certification.
