Job location: London Bankside

Fixed Term Contract: 13 months initially

Job Purpose: The HR Risk Manager plays a critical role in strengthening the risk and control environment across the global HR function. This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing people-related risks, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk frameworks and regulatory expectations. Operating within a complex, global, and regulated environment, the role will support the embedding of a proactive risk culture across HR, ensuring risks are understood, controlled and transparently reported to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Risk Framework & Governance: Support the development and continuous improvement of the HR Risk & Controls Framework in alignment with enterprise risk standards. Maintain the global HR risk register, ensuring risks are clearly defined, assessed, and regularly reviewed. Drive consistency in risk identification, assessment, and documentation across global HR teams. Facilitate risk workshops with key stakeholders across HR.
  • Controls & Assurance: Design and oversee key HR controls across the different areas of HR e.g. payroll, employee relations, recruitment, and HR data privacy. Assess control effectiveness and support remediation of identified gaps. Partner with Internal/External Audit and Compliance to support audit activity and action tracking. Monitor and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Ensure HR practices comply with employment legislation and relevant regulatory requirements e.g. data privacy. Support interpretation of regulatory changes impacting HR.
  • Risk Reporting & Governance Forums: Produce high-quality risk reporting for senior stakeholders. Support HR Risk Forums including agenda, reporting packs, and action tracking.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with HR teams and Risk stakeholders to embed risk management practices. Develop relationships with key stakeholders in the wider Haleon team e.g. Finance, Internal Audit and Compliance. Provide guidance and constructive challenge.
  • Projects & Transformation: Provide risk input into HR transformation initiatives. Embed risk considerations into change programmes.

Skills & Experience

  • Worked in a Risk, Compliance or Audit function.
  • Experience in HR Risk, Operational Risk, or HR Governance.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes.
  • Knowledge of key risks typically encountered by global companies, for example privacy, information security, ABAC, third party management, payroll etc.
  • Experience with risk frameworks and reporting.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions across multiple geographies.
  • Experienced in working with internal and external auditors.
  • Understanding of the regulatory landscape, including Sarbox.

Desirable

  • Experience in a global, regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 31000 or similar frameworks.
  • Relevant qualifications (IRM, CIPD).
  • Degree level qualification.
