This role is in a fast-paced and dynamic team supporting on communications planning and delivery, taking an omni-channel approach to GSF’s communications (both internal and external). Covering several audiences and channels from internal communications and engagement through to PR and social media. Our communications team is responsible for finding and storytelling best-practice and achievement to excite and motivate our teams and customers alike. You will need to work across the marketing team to create, plan and deliver a sparky and vibrant mix of engaging content for our colleagues and trade customers.

There are huge opportunities for GSF to reach trade customers through great social media activity and other channels. We need to clearly position the GSF brand as a provocative, likeable, fast-growing challenger. We’re looking for innovation and creativity and the confidence to engage with relevant influencers. You will also be required to assist in planning, copywriting, communicating and delivering marketing campaigns as well as in supporting key projects and initiatives within the organisation. Events range from branch open evenings and supplier ‘workouts’ through to our large industry-leading national TechFest events.

Main Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Plan, create and manage communications across multiple channels internally and externally
  • Develop brand positioning and ensure it’s well understood within the marketing team and the wider business
  • Ensure activity reflects and reinforces the GSF brand
  • Work with colleagues and agencies to create effective campaigns and plans
  • Develop a reliable measurement framework so we can understand what works
  • Engage with customers, industry media, influencers and other relevant 3rd parties
  • Look for topics, themes and occasions that GSF can leverage for coverage
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to identify stories, activities, and achievements of the business to share both internally and externally
  • End-to-end creation of digital content including video, audio and photography (working with freelancers)
  • Ensure all activity and brand positioning fit within the wider marketing plan
  • Maintain consistent and appropriate tone of message for channel and audience
  • Devise creative ways to convey messages, increase engagement, and build a sense of national community

Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working, with three days spent collaborating at our Wolverhampton Head Office and two days working from home.
