The Freight Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimising all inbound and outbound freight operations across the GSF Car Parts network. The role ensures cost-effective, compliant, and reliable transport solutions that support branch availability, customer service levels, and overall supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all freight operations including inbound supplier deliveries, inter-branch transfers, and outbound distribution.
- Develop and implement freight strategies to support business growth and service objectives.
- Ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery performance across the network.
- Control freight spend and deliver continuous cost improvements.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, hauliers, and third-party logistics providers.
- Analyse freight data to identify efficiencies, reduce empty mileage, and improve load utilisation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with transport partners and suppliers.
- Monitor carrier performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs.
- Manage tenders, renewals, and service reviews.
