GSF Car Parts is looking for a commercially driven Marketplace Manager to lead and grow our marketplace business.
Initially, the role will focus on accelerating performance across our existing e Bay and Amazon stores, improving sales, profitability, range, availability and overall marketplace execution.
Alongside growing the existing business, the Marketplace Manager will develop and deliver GSF's marketplace expansion strategy, identifying new marketplaces, categories and territories that can generate profitable incremental revenue.
A key part of the role will be European expansion, using established marketplaces to introduce GSF's product range to customers in new countries and build a scalable international e Commerce business.
This is an end-to-end commercial role.
The Marketplace Manager will be expected to identify opportunities, build the business case, get products live and ultimately deliver the revenue and margin.
Key Responsibilities e Bay & Amazon Growth
- Own the day-to-day commercial performance of GSF's e Bay and Amazon stores.
- Develop and deliver growth plans covering revenue, margin, range, availability, conversion and customer experience.
- Identify opportunities to significantly increase the number of commercially viable products available through marketplace channels.
- Improve product listings, titles, content, imagery, categorisation and product attributes to maximise visibility and conversion.
- Monitor pricing and competitor activity and ensure GSF maintains a competitive marketplace proposition.
- Develop promotional and trading plans around key seasonal and marketplace events.
- Identify best sellers, underperforming products and range gaps and take action accordingly.
- Ensure stock availability, pricing and product data are accurate across marketplaces.
- Continually identify ways to improve marketplace processes and reduce manual activity through better systems, feeds and automation.
- Marketplace Expansion
- Build and own the roadmap for expanding GSF onto new marketplaces.
- Assess potential marketplaces based on customer reach, category relevance, commercial opportunity, operational complexity and profitability.
- Develop commercial business cases and sales forecasts for new marketplace launches.
- Own new marketplace launches from initial assessment through integration, product listing and go-live.
- Identify opportunities to sell both GSF's core automotive range and complementary categories such as tools, accessories, car care, lifestyle and leisure.
- Establish a repeatable model that allows successful marketplace propositions to be scaled into additional territories.
- European Expansion
- Develop a marketplace-led strategy for expanding GSF's e Commerce business into Europe.
- Identify priority countries based on market size, customer demand, competition, product fit and potential profitability.
- Identify the most appropriate marketplaces for each target territory.
- Build country-level commercial plans covering range, pricing, fulfilment, returns and customer proposition.
- Work with internal specialists and external partners to address requirements around tax, compliance, product regulations and cross-border trading.
- Develop an approach to localisation, including translated product content and country-specific customer requirements.
- Test new markets with a test, learn and scale approach before committing significant investment.
- Range & Product Strategy
- Identify which parts of the GSF range are best suited to marketplace channels.
- Build marketplace-specific assortments rather than simply listing the entire catalogue.
- Identify opportunities to launch marketplace-exclusive products and ranges.
- Work with Product Managers to identify new products, brands and categories with strong marketplace potential.
- Use marketplace search and sales data to identify customer demand and feed opportunities back into the wider e Commerce range strategy.
- Ensure new products are launched quickly and accurately across relevant marketplaces.
- Commercial Ownership
- Own marketplace revenue, gross margin and profitability.
- Deliver agreed sales and contribution targets across existing and new marketplaces.
- Produce budgets, forecasts and growth plans by marketplace and territory.
- Understand all marketplace costs including commission, fulfilment, advertising, promotions and returns.
- Monitor performance at marketplace, country, category and product level.
- Identify where investment can unlock additional profitable revenue.
- Ensure marketplace growth is genuinely incremental and commercially sustainable.

- Develop and optimise marketplace advertising activity.
- Manage advertising budgets against clear commercial return targets.
- Improve organic marketplace visibility through better product content and catalogue quality.
- Work with the wider Trading and Marketing teams around major campaigns, promotional periods and product launches.
- Use marketplace insight to identify emerging products, categories and customer trends.
- Operations & Customer Experience
- Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain and Customer Service to ensure a strong end-to-end marketplace experience.
- Monitor cancellations, delivery performance, returns and customer feedback.
- Protect marketplace account health and seller performance.
- Identify operational issues impacting sales or customer experience and drive their resolution.
- Ensure expansion plans are operationally scalable rather than creating unnecessary manual processes.
