We're looking for a commercially astute and detail‑oriented IT Commercial Manager to oversee the financial and contractual operations of our IT function. This strategic role blends financial oversight, vendor management, and governance to ensure cost‑effective, compliant, and high‑performing IT service delivery.

As IT Commercial Manager, you will:

  • Contract Management
    • Negotiate, review, and manage IT contracts and renewals.
    • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and SLAs.
    • Maintain a central repository of all IT contracts and documentation.
  • Financial Oversight
    • Manage IT budgets, forecasts, and actuals in collaboration with Finance.
    • Support the IT Finance Admin in tracking and reconciling IT spend across vendors, services, and projects.
    • Oversee invoice processing and payment validation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Vendor & Supplier Management
    • Act as the primary contact for IT suppliers and service providers.
    • Monitor vendor performance and elevate issues as needed.
    • Support procurement and tendering activities.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Produce regular reports on IT spend, savings, and commercial performance.
    • Identify cost‑saving opportunities and support strategic sourcing initiatives.
    • Provide commercial insights to IT leadership.
  • Governance & Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to financial controls and procurement policies.
    • Support audits and risk assessments related to IT commercial activities.
  • Team Leadership
    • Line‑manage a Finance Admin responsible for invoice processing and reconciliation.
    • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
    • Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining quality oversight.
    • Support professional development and ensure workload alignment with business priorities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in IT commercial or financial management roles.
  • Strong understanding of IT contracts, procurement, and vendor management.
  • Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP platforms).
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with IT, Finance, Legal, and Procurement teams.
  • Degree in Business, Finance, IT or related field (preferred).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, ITIL, Prince2) are a plus.
  • Experience managing IT budgets over £10M+.
