The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

To ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and best practices across the branch network. The Health and Safety Officer will proactively identify risks, implement safety measures, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all branches comply with current health and safety legislation and company standards. Assist in maintaining and updating health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Risk Assessment & Audits: Conduct regular branch audits to identify hazards & risks. Carry out risk assessments with the company health and safety team / branch management. Carry out PEEPs as required. Identify and report on any failing areas or those with potential for improvement. Develop and implement corrective action plans.
  • Training & Awareness: Deliver health and safety training to branch staff. Promote a positive safety culture through awareness campaigns and engagement. Encourage incident reporting in a timely manner. Assist in opening new branches / train new branch managers / teams.
  • Incident Management: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; produce detailed reports and recommend improvements. Maintain accurate records of incidents and compliance documentation.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Ensure branches have up-to-date emergency plans and conduct drills. Advise on fire safety, first aid provision, and evacuation procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with branch managers and regional teams to embed safety practices. Liaise with external bodies (HSE, insurers) as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (essential) – working towards Diploma level.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Behavioural safety experience.
  • Experience in multi-site health and safety management.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to travel across the branch network (UK travel, barring Scotland).
