E-commerce Pricing & Trading Analyst

Location: [Wolverhampton NDC - 3 days in the office, 2 remotely - Monday to Friday, office can not be accessed via public transport]

About the Role

We're looking for a commercially minded and data-driven

E-commerce Pricing & Trading Analyst to join our growing digital team.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of the automotive aftermarket, vehicle parts, accessories or workshop environment , who wants to combine their product knowledge with commercial analysis and digital trading.

Whether you've worked as a

Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, Parts Advisor, Motor Factor Sales Executive, Product Specialist, Category Assistant or Pricing Analyst , this position offers the opportunity to shape pricing decisions that directly influence online sales performance and profitability.

Using market intelligence, competitor activity, customer behaviour and stock data, you'll help optimise pricing across our e-commerce channels, ensuring we remain competitive while protecting margins and driving growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pricing Strategy & Execution
  • Implement daily, weekly and seasonal pricing strategies across multiple online sales channels.
  • Monitor pricing performance and adjust strategies to support revenue, margin and conversion targets.
  • Support the development of pricing initiatives that enhance competitiveness and profitability.
  • Competitor & Market Analysis
  • Monitor competitor pricing, promotions and stock availability using digital pricing and market intelligence tools.
  • Analyse competitor activity and identify commercial opportunities.
  • Track market trends, product demand and customer purchasing behaviour.
  • Margin & Trading Performance Analysis
  • Analyse the impact of pricing changes on sales volume, conversion rates and profitability.
  • Evaluate price elasticity and customer demand patterns.
  • Identify margin leakage and recommend corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Dynamic Pricing Management
  • Utilise pricing software and automation tools to manage dynamic pricing strategies.
  • Ensure pricing reflects real-time demand, inventory levels, seasonality and promotional activity.
  • Support the continuous improvement of pricing models and trading rules.
  • Promotions & Campaign Support
  • Partner with Marketing and Buying teams to forecast, execute and evaluate promotional campaigns.
  • Assess promotional effectiveness and profitability.
  • Provide recommendations to optimise future campaigns.
  • Reporting & Business Intelligence
  • Build and maintain trading dashboards and commercial reports.
  • Identify pricing anomalies, sales trends and trading opportunities.
  • Present clear recommendations and insights to stakeholders.

About You

You are analytical, commercially aware and highly comfortable working with data.

You also possess a strong understanding of automotive products and understand how customers purchase vehicle parts, accessories and workshop consumables.

Essential Skills & Experience

Strong automotive product knowledge gained through hands-on industry experience.

  • Experience working as a

Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, Parts Advisor, Motor Factor employee, Automotive Product Specialist, Category Assistant or similar automotive role.

• Excel skills including

  • XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
  • Pivot Tables
  • SUMIFS
  • Data modelling and complex formulas
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret large datasets and turn insights into commercial actions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience using Power BI, Tableau, Google Looker Studio or similar BI tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database querying.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify Plus, Magento or Amazon Seller Central.
  • Experience working with pricing optimisation or dynamic pricing software.
  • Understanding of digital trading, merchandising and online customer behaviour.
