We are seeking a dedicated Hardware Technician to support the build, deployment, and lifecycle management of end‑user devices. This is an ideal entry‑level role for someone looking to start a career in IT, with a focus on hands‑on hardware work, asset management, and device provisioning. You will be responsible for preparing and configuring laptops, desktops, mobile phones, and tablets, ensuring all equipment is built to company standards and ready for end users.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and configure laptops and desktop PCs to company standards
- Set up and provision mobile devices (phones and tablets)
- Install operating systems, drivers, and standard applications
- Apply security policies, updates, and configurations
- Track and manage IT hardware assets using asset management systems
- Maintain accurate records of device allocation, status, and location
- Label and tag equipment in line with company processes
- Process returned devices (leavers, upgrades, faults)
- Wipe, reimage, and refurbish reusable hardware
- Coordinate hardware disposal in line with company and environmental policies
- Prepare equipment for new starters and internal moves
- Package and ship devices where required
- Assist with onsite setup and basic troubleshooting
- Perform quality checks before deployment and maintain build standards
Skills and Experience
- Basic understanding of computer hardware (PCs, laptops, mobile devices)
