We’re a commercial decorating contractor working for major main contractors in London. Fit-out and refurb. Fast programmes. High standards. We need a supervisor who can run work properly and close jobs out without drama.
This role is for someone who:
- Drives output every day
- Holds standards under pressure
- Solves problems without excuses
- Leads subcontractors and keeps control
- Delivers clean handovers and fast close-out
Your scorecard (what you’ll be judged on):
- Labour output and daily production
- Snag levels at handover
- Rework and call-backs (must be low)
- Programme performance
- Safety and compliance
- Communication and reporting quality
- Close-out speed and sign-off
What you will do:
- Run painting packages on live construction sites
- Build a plan and deliver it, day by day
- Set the standard, enforce it, and don’t tolerate poor work
- Manage prep, systems, finish quality, and protection
- Keep labour working, not waiting
- Control materials, ordering, storage, wastage
- Coordinate with the main contractor and other trades
- Manage defects properly and close them fast
- Deliver RAMS and enforce safe working
- Provide daily progress updates with photos, numbers, and risks
You must have:
- Proven commercial decorating supervisor experience (fit-out/refurb)
- Strong knowledge of prep and paint systems
- Ability to manage a mixed team of PAYE and subcontractors
- Confidence to challenge programme blockers and push for access
- Strong reporting habits and attention to detail
- CSCS (Supervisor or Skilled Worker)
- SSSTS (or you’re already booked in for it)
- Right to work in the UK
You should have:
- First Aid at Work
- Asbestos awareness
- IPAF / PASMA
- Driving licence
