We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join a well-established team of construction experts delivering services in Expert Witness and Project Recovery across major construction and infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to two key service lines:
- Expert Witness Services: Supporting delay experts in preparing detailed delay analysis reports for adjudication, litigation, and other forms of dispute resolution.
- Project Recovery Services: Assisting commercial and contract specialists in providing strategic advice to clients managing distressed projects and major programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed forensic analysis of construction projects to assess delay and causation.
- Support and/or lead the preparation of expert witness reports used in formal dispute resolution proceedings.
- Engage with clients, legal advisors, and stakeholders to develop and articulate strong claims or defences in time-related disputes.
- Assist with developing commercial recovery strategies that align with client objectives.
- Analyse project performance to identify root causes of issues and provide actionable insights.
- Review and assess contemporaneous project records and contractual documentation to support claims or dispute resolution strategies.
- Guide and mentor junior team members, providing quality oversight and technical direction.
- Represent the service line in client meetings, industry forums, and internal leadership initiatives.

About You
- Analytical and detail-oriented with a forensic mindset.
- Knowledgeable in construction industry practices and procedures, including relevant forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT, FIDIC).
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, adapting to different working styles.
- Transparent in your communication and committed to delivering work of the highest standard.
- Ambitious and driven, with an interest in growing your profile within the dispute resolution and recovery space.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years' relevant experience in construction and/or engineering.
- Degree-qualified in a construction-related discipline (and/or law).
- Proven experience in delay analysis and/or dispute resolution, ideally including exposure to expert witness work.
- Track record of successfully leading or supporting claims and dispute resolution processes, both upstream and downstream.
- Ability to lead development of contract and commercial strategies on distressed projects or programmes.
- Experienced in stakeholder engagement at all levels, including chairing high-level meetings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex issues into clear, client-facing documentation.
Additional Information
- While most work is UK-based, occasional international assignments may arise.
- Flexible working arrangements are supported, with an expectation of some time spent in a local office to maintain team cohesion.
