Overview of the Creative Director Role - Exhibitions | Events | Experiential

Calling all experienced Creative Directors! New Opportunity! If you are a Creative/Design Director looking to make a real impact in the exhibition/experiential space, this could be the opportunity for you. We are working with a well-established, yet still growing design studio and exhibition specialist in the West Midlands, who is looking for a Creative Director to lead from the front. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can hit the ground running, shaping creative vision, inspiring teams, and delivering standout exhibition and experiential work for a wide variety of clients. You will be sitting at the heart of the studio, where you will not only be leading creative direction and elevating creative standards, but bridging the gap between design, sales and project management teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a creative design team
  • Own and shape creative direction across a variety of exhibitions and live events
  • Drive concept development from brief through to delivery
  • Play a key role in pitches, presentations, and client engagement
  • Ensure alignment across design, sales and project management teams
  • Champion creativity, innovation, and high standards across the business

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience operating as a Creative Director, Design Director or Creative Lead
  • Experience with 3D design tools such as SketchUp
  • Strong background in exhibition design, events, or experiential environments
  • A creative portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and delivered work
  • Confident client-facing presence with strong presentation skills
  • Experience leading and developing creative teams
  • Experience working closely with sales and project management teams
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to balance creativity and commercial thinking
