Our client is an established fit out and refurbishment contractor with a strong track record delivering multi-trade interior projects across the commercial and public sectors. With a strong pipeline of upcoming work and a number of long-term framework agreements in place, they are now looking to add an experienced Estimator to their team.
The Role
Working as part of a close-knit team, you will be responsible for pricing a range of commercial fit out and refurbishment projects, typically valued up to around £1 million. You will be involved throughout the tender process, from reviewing initial drawings and specifications through to preparing detailed estimates and supporting the wider team with winning new work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates and tenders for fit out and refurbishment projects
- Review drawings, specifications and project information
- Complete detailed material and labour take-offs
- Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
- Build strong relationships with the supply chain to secure competitive pricing
- Assist with value engineering and alternative cost-saving solutions
- Work closely with senior management and project teams on tender submissions
- Keep pricing information and project records up to date
About You
- Previous experience in an Estimator role within construction, fit out or refurbishment
- Good understanding of commercial interiors and associated trades
- Strong ability to interpret drawings and project specifications
- Confident using Excel and estimating software such as Bluebeam, Conquest or similar
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Able to work independently and contribute effectively within a small team
