We are seeking a robust and experienced Health & Safety Consultant to oversee onsite safety for a high-profile industrial construction project within the food and beverage sector. This is a critical role ensuring that all contractors and site activities adhere to the highest standards of safety and compliance. You will be the "boots on the ground," providing expert guidance, conducting audits, and promoting a proactive safety culture on a fast-paced, live operational site.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site inspections and safety walk‑rounds to identify and mitigate risks.
- Review and approve RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) for various subcontractors.
- Ensure all site personnel adhere to Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM 2015).
- Act as the primary point of contact for all H&S queries, reporting directly to the Project Management team.
The Ideal Candidate
- You must have a solid track record in managing safety within complex construction or heavy industrial environments.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) or equivalent.
- Ability to challenge unsafe behaviours constructively and communicate effectively with everyone from site labourers to senior stakeholders.
- Ideally based within a commutable distance of Lockerbie, comfortable with a 07:00 start.
