Location: West Sussex and across Southern Water project sites.

A new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading contractor supporting critical water infrastructure projects across the South. You’ll play a pivotal role in embedding health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with legislation, and fostering a positive, proactive safety culture across capital delivery sites.

Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on HSE matters to project managers and site teams.
- Lead inspections, hazard management, and root cause investigations of major incidents.
- Advise on high-risk areas, including CDM compliance, temporary works, and site setup.
- Mentor and coach managers and supervisors, building stronger safety leadership.
- Contribute to the development of H&S policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Drive a positive safety culture through initiatives.
- Identify gaps in H&S systems, recommend improvements, and share best practices.
- Support tenders and bids with expert H&S input to ensure safe project delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in health and safety advisory roles, ideally within utilities or construction.
- NEBOSH Construction Certification (or equivalent).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
Compensation and benefits
- £400 per month car allowance or company car
