Business Development Manager – UK Energy Infrastructure

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing Energy Infrastructure organisation that is disrupting the market. Having scaled to a £14.4M turnover with exceptional 40-50% EBITDA margins, the business is now seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to lead its strategic sales and expansion into core UK energy sectors.
The Mission for the Business Development Manager
Working closely with the Managing Director, you will shape strategy, build lasting client relationships, and manage the full sales cycle from origination to close.
- Lead business development efforts, with a strong focus on Power Transmission (DNOs), Grid Flexibility, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for modular building solutions and temporary infrastructure within these rapidly evolving energy projects.
- Develop and manage a strong network of client relationships across energy providers, key stakeholders, and relevant suppliers in the modular construction and temporary solutions space.
- Manage the full deal and sales lifecycle – from identifying initial opportunities through to contract negotiation and close, including complex projects involving prefabricated elements or on-site temporary setups.
- Drive strategy to expand the company’s presence and influence in the evolving energy market, leveraging the benefits of modularity and rapid deployment.
- Represent the business at industry events, meetings, and on-site with clients, articulating the value proposition of integrated energy infrastructure solutions, including modular and temporary components.
The Ideal Candidate
You are a self-starter with deep industry knowledge and a proven ability to close deals.
- You have a proven track record in sales and business development within the UK energy sector.
- Crucially, you possess demonstrable experience in sales of modular buildings or temporary infrastructure solutions, ideally for large-scale industrial or utility projects.
- You possess a strong existing network across DNOs, energy providers, and BESS stakeholders, and ideally, connections within the modular construction or temporary solutions supply chain.
- You have demonstrable experience originating, negotiating, and closing complex, high-value deals, including those with nuanced requirements for rapid deployment or adaptable site solutions.
- You have an excellent ability to engage with senior decision-makers and a deep understanding of industry trends, including the growing demand for flexible and efficient construction methods in energy infrastructure.
- You are an entrepreneurial and autonomous professional, ready to make a significant impact.
