About the Opportunity
We aren’t just building structures; we are redefining the built environment. Our mission is to deliver carbon-negative, climate-resilient infrastructure through precision engineering and rapid-assembly manufacturing. As a systems‑led organization, we challenge the status quo across Rail, Energy, and Defence sectors. We are looking for a CAD Technician who wants their work to have a tangible impact. You will be responsible for creating the digital blueprints for our modular, panelised building systems, ensuring that every component from substation housing to rapid‑deploy workspaces is designed for net‑zero performance and manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- High‑Precision Modeling: Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models for our modular assemblies and panellised systems, maintaining tolerances as tight as +/- 2mm.
- DfMA Focus: Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA). Create layouts and part drawings that facilitate rapid on‑site assembly and efficient off‑site manufacturing.
- Engineering Translation: Interpret complex technical concepts and sketches from engineers to create "Plug & Play" documentation for manufacturing and installation teams.
- Lifecycle Documentation: Prepare accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) and maintain drawing registers with strict version control to support 60‑year+ design‑life durability.
- Standards & Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with UK building regulations, net‑zero standards (EPC Rating A targets), and fire safety codes (A1/A2 ratings).
- Iterative Design: Collaborate with the project team to revise drawings based on feedback, structural calculations, and evolving site requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality checks to ensure drawings are "right first time," reducing waste and operational interruptions for our clients.
Skills & Qualifications
- CAD Mastery: Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) is essential.
- Technical Rigour: Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform basic design calculations and tolerance analysis.
- Industry Knowledge: An understanding of (or interest in) Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), structural metalwork, or sustainable building systems.
- Proactive Collaborator: Comfortable working in an agile, innovative environment where you interface directly with engineers and project managers.
- Digital Literacy: Strong skills in MS Office and an organized approach to digital file management.
