A dynamic and rewarding position has arisen for a Head of Social Sustainability with a forward-thinking leader in the construction and infrastructure industry.

Reporting directly to the Social Sustainability Director, this role places you at the heart of the UK Social Sustainability Senior Leadership Team. You will lead a team of social sustainability professionals across Southern England and Wales, driving the organisation’s ambition to be the most socially conscious contractor. This includes delivering on the roadmap to achieve a minimum of 35% social value against revenue by 2026.

The successful Head of Social Sustainability will:

  • Bring extensive experience in social sustainability, social value, or community development within private or public sector organisations.
  • Have a proven ability to build strong, influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and clients.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and expertise in implementing strategies across multiple business units to drive cultural change.
  • Possess deep knowledge of social value frameworks, measurement methodologies (e.g., TOMs), and digital reporting tools.
  • Exhibit exceptional leadership skills with experience managing and motivating teams in a matrix organisation.
  • Show enthusiasm, analytical thinking, and a commitment to driving positive social change.
