The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly credible leader to drive HSE cultural change and strategic direction at a major UK infrastructure organisation. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the role requires an influential heavyweight capable of driving high performing HSE culture and leading a dynamic team of around 30 specialists.
What You Will Do
- Take full accountability for developing and delivering the strategy across Health & Safety, Environmental, Technical Training, Occupational Hygiene, and Governance & Integrity.
- Coach, lead, and develop team managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), driving deep accountability and ownership.
- Represent the business in critical engagements with external regulators, industry bodies, and consultants.
- Have significant input into and management of OPEX and CAPEX budgets, reviewing spend requirements continuously.
- Act as the ultimate owner of site Technical Procedures and statutory compliance to avoid business interruption.

Qualifications:
- You must hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Leadership: You must have a proven demonstration of people leadership and management within a unionised environment.
- Experience: You will have extensive experience delivering change and transformation.
- Standards: You must be experienced in working with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
- Industry Background: Experience in the power, energy, or process industries is highly desirable. Ideal candidates will bring top or second-tier COMAH experience from highly regulated sectors like Energy, Chemicals, Pharma, or Oil & Gas.
