Join a world-leading battery manufacturer and start your career in sales. This is an exciting development opportunity for someone eager to learn and grow within a market-leading company. As a Sales Executive, you will support the UK Sales team in managing customer relationships, identifying opportunities, and learning the fundamentals of sales in the automotive aftermarket. You'll receive full training and mentoring to help you progress toward a successful career in sales to support you in selling to the UK automotive aftermarket, including buying groups, battery specialists, and electrical wholesalers. This role covers the Central South region. While experience in the sector is beneficial, we are also open to considering exceptional talent from any related industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • This role is a development role and is intended to grow and adapt with expertise and business growth.
  • Day-to-day account management tasks.
  • Support promotional campaigns and marketing activities.
  • Learn to use CRM systems and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Help prepare sales reports and presentations.
  • Shadow experienced sales managers during client visits and industry events.
  • Respond to customer queries and provide excellent service.
  • You will build on technical knowledge and stay informed about product ranges and pricing structures.
  • You will learn/adapt to negotiate commercial terms with current and newly established accounts in conjunction with the GS Yuasa commercial department with experience and training following development.

General Responsibilities:

  • Stay informed about company systems, pricing structures, and product ranges.
  • Collaborate with key sales and operations personnel.
  • Work closely with customer service representatives.
  • Maintain customer details and industry knowledge.
  • Be prepared for travel and exhibition duties.

  • As advised by line manager when applicable.

  • Strong customer-facing skills, adept at gathering customer and competitor information.
  • Confident in using own initiative.
  • Competent knowledge of Excel, and associated Microsoft software, with the willingness to learn BI Tools.
  • Interest in developing commercial awareness to support role development.
  • Strong communication skills and professional, confident presentation abilities (additional development will be provided).
  • Highly motivated to achieve set targets.
  • Skilled in building rapport to secure and retain customer relationships.
  • Growth mindset to develop and excel in the role, including attending training courses as needed.
  • High level of literacy in both written and verbal communication.
  • Well-organised with good time management skills.
  • Enthusiastic with high levels of determination and self-motivation.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • No prior sales experience required, just a passion for learning and developing in a commercial role.
  • Previous customer service or administrative experience is helpful, but not essential.
  • Desirable experience includes:
  • Sales and Business Development: Willingness to learn and develop further sales and business development skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: An understanding of the automotive industry, especially the aftermarket segment, would be beneficial.
  • Client Relationship Management: Transferable interpersonal skills.
  • Developing Negotiation Skills: Working with the commercial department and General Sales Manager.
  • Technical Knowledge: Based on completing in-house training.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software.
  • Educational Background: Ideally, with relevant business experience and general administration. With an understanding of Marketing, Engineering, or related fields, or relevant experience in similar industries.
  • Professional Certifications: Sales, marketing, or automotive technology certifications are beneficial but not expected.
  • Driver's License: A valid UK driver's license is required for travelling to meet clients and attending industry events (Company car benefit).
