We are seeking a proactive qualified Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineer to support all production activity during day shifts on our Panama shift rotation. You will play a vital role in maintaining site equipment, delivering rapid and effective breakdown response, and ensuring machinery is kept to the highest maintenance standard. Working as part of the engineering team, you’ll provide reliable, hands-on support to the factory to minimise disruption and keep production running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a responsive and supportive engineering service to the factory to minimise downtime and disruption caused by equipment breakdowns.
- Carry out all work in line with the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule to ensure production and site services equipment is adequately maintained.
- Attend machinery and equipment breakdowns, performing the necessary electrical and/or mechanical diagnostic checks.
- Prioritise tasks effectively to keep production downtime to an absolute minimum.
- Work in accordance with standard working procedures to ensure the highest quality and safest output.
- Actively suggest improvements to systems and procedures to enhance safety, efficiency, reliability, and overall factory performance.
- Complete work records daily to support accurate collation of machine downtime and effectiveness data.
- Document all parts utilised on jobs to maintain stock accuracy within the engineering stores.
- Undertake additional activities and tasks as reasonably requested by your manager.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Recognised qualification as an electrical and/or mechanical engineer.
- Experience working in a production environment—preferably within the food industry.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to provide practical insight and propose new ways of working.
- Good record-keeping and basic IT skills to support CMMS and downtime reporting.
- Positive, team-focused attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement.
