We’re looking for a Technical Operative to take ownership of the technical performance of a production line at our fast-growing March site. This is a critical role focused on ensuring every product meets customer specifications, legal requirements, and the highest standards of safety and quality. Working closely with QA and production teams, you’ll act as the technical conscience of the line ensuring compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Production
    • Ensure machines are set with correct production data and verified against specifications prior to start-up.
    • Complete and document all required pre-start checks.
    • Control and monitor metal detection and check-weigh systems to ensure full compliance.
    • Ensure correct programmes, films, date codes, and specifications are used for each production run.
    • Identify, report, and record faults promptly, escalating issues and contributing to review meetings/discussions.
    • Maintain check-weigher equipment in clean, safe, and fully operational condition.
  • Raw Material and Yield Control
    • Monitor raw material performance and highlight quality or specification issues promptly.
    • Communicate raw material concerns clearly to Operatives and Supervisors to maintain vigilance and minimise disruption.
    • Maintain awareness of yield performance and support actions to maximise recovery and reduce waste.
  • Quality, Food Safety and Compliance
    • Monitor product quality throughout production and implement corrective action where required.
    • Ensure all products meet quality, safety, and legal standards.
    • Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Support achievement of GMP standards above 95% target.
    • Work in partnership with QA to maintain full compliance across the production area.
  • Hygiene & GMP
    • Maintain high standards of hygiene across the production area.
    • Ensure “clean as you go” standards are consistently followed.
    • Support structured cleaning systems to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

  • Understanding of food safety, quality, and legal compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of metal detection and check-weigh systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially around specifications and documentation.
  • Confident communicator who can elevate issues clearly.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to stay organised and focused in a fast-paced environment.
