We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Retort Operative to join our production team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining retort machinery, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
What you’ll be doing:
- Operate retort machines efficiently, reporting any faults or downtime.
- Carry out pre-start checks, cleaning, and complete all relevant paperwork.
- Run the correct retort programs to meet product specifications.
- Ensure machinery is cleaned to the required standard before production.
- Perform retort checks and record results in line with procedures.
- Monitor seal integrity to ensure product quality.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including health & safety, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a food manufacturing or production environment (retort experience desirable, but not essential - training will be provided).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to report issues promptly.
- A team player who can also work independently.
