As our Engineering Projects Manager, you will be responsible for leading and delivering critical engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and operational standards. Working closely with internal teams and external contractors, you will drive efficiency, innovation, and long-term site development to support business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning, managing, and delivering engineering projects, including new installations, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Ensuring projects meet agreed specifications, budgets, and timelines.
  • Developing and maintaining capital applications, project plans, risk assessments, and progress reports.
  • Collaborating with production, engineering, and technical teams to minimise disruption during implementation.
  • Hosting project reviews to assess effectiveness and identify future improvements.
  • Ensuring all projects comply with food safety, health & safety, and legal requirements.
  • Managing contractor compliance, ensuring all external partners meet site safety and quality standards.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on automation, energy efficiency, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Overseeing project budgets, cost control, and procurement to ensure value for money.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Degree or time-served qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Project Engineering.
  • Proven experience in engineering project management within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Strong knowledge of capital project management, including planning, execution, and commissioning.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements, such as CDM regulations, PUWER, LOLER, and PSSR.
  • Experience managing contractors and suppliers, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • PRINCE2 or PMP project management qualification (preferred).
  • IOSH or NEBOSH health & safety certification (preferred).
  • Experience with automation, digitalisation projects, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) for project tracking.
