We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transactions Assistant to join our Finance team, based within our offices near Ely. This role plays a vital part in the day-to-day operations of the financial department, supporting the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions across the business. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all financial records are up to date and compliant with internal and external standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Process and reconcile invoices from both vendors and clients.
- Maintain accurate transaction records in financial systems and databases.
- Support bank reconciliations to ensure all records are current and correct.
- Process payments and receipts, ensuring prompt and accurate settlements.
- Investigate and resolve any transaction discrepancies, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure the smooth flow of payments and receipts.
- Assist in preparing reports on financial transactions for management review.
- Ensure all financial activities comply with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the preparation of VAT returns and other tax-related documentation.
- Assist with processing employee expenses and ensuring timely and accurate payroll support.
- Respond to internal and external financial queries, resolving issues efficiently.
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting support role is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to work.
