At the cutting edge of sustainable farming and food production, G’s is an exciting and rewarding place to grow your career. As one of the UK’s largest fresh produce providers, we supply over one billion packs of healthy food every year — and we’re not slowing down.

Role: Future Farming Technician

Over the past five years, our Cambridgeshire Farms have adopted Regenerative Agriculture practices, combining these principles with intensive horticulture to improve soil health, reduce inputs, and maintain yields — all while regenerating the land.

We’re expanding our team with a Future Farming Technician — someone who’s hands-on, curious, and passionate about the future of farming.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Progressing regenerative trials and innovations, with a split of office and field work.
  • Building and maintaining Johnson-Su bioreactors and other composting systems to enhance microbial life in soils.
  • Supporting trials by working directly with growers and farm managers — from setup to data collection and analysis.
  • Overseeing and working alongside our Trials Coordinator(s) and student placements — supporting fieldwork, trial maintenance, and sample collection.
  • Translating field observations and data into practical insights to improve farming practices.
  • Promoting regenerative practices across the farming team through clear communication and engagement.
  • Researching new ideas and techniques by reviewing scientific literature, visiting farms, and attending workshops and events.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in biosciences, agriculture, plant science, soil science, or a related field.
  • Practical experience in farming, horticulture, or cultivation — comfortable working hands-on.
  • A scientific mindset with practical skills — enjoy working with data and statistical analysis.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills — able to connect with researchers and field workers alike.
  • A full UK driving licence — as travel to multiple sites will be required (a company vehicle will be provided).

Why Join Us?

This is a unique opportunity to be involved at the forefront of regenerative agriculture within a large-scale commercial operation. Join a forward-thinking team that’s not just experimenting but shaping the future of food production from the soil up.

What We Offer:

  • 31 days holiday per year including bank holidays.
  • Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Great Place to Work accreditation.
  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme.
  • Discounts on cinema, Sky Store, supermarkets, and other retailers.
  • Health Cash Plan, holiday discounts, life assurance, and income protection.
  • Employee referral scheme and Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Cycle to Work scheme, eyecare contributions, and electric car salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Learning, development, and training opportunities including mentoring.
  • Regular social, charity, and community engagement events.
  • Onsite health checks and annual flu vaccinations.
  • Wellbeing sessions and support.

We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer.
