About the role

We are seeking a Graduate Process Engineer to join our Newcastle office to assist the engineering and design team and provide technical support, under professional supervision in relation to developing and refining process solutions across a variety of greenfield projects and brownfield upgrades. The role is also supported via our Graduate Development Program.

Brief Duties

  • Assist engineers in the detailed design and optimisation process systems and unit operations, including comminution, gravity, magnetic and physical separation processes, flotation, and dewatering processes.
  • Contribute to the development of process flow diagrams (PFD’s), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s), and equipment specifications.
  • Conduct basic technical analysis and calculations to support process design decisions.
  • Gain proficiency in process engineering software, or similar applications under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support project teams and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attend site if required to support commissioning work, operational readiness and/or operational support.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, training programs, and mentorship initiatives to enhance technical skills, expand industry knowledge and progress towards professional certification.

About You

  • Tertiary degree - Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Course work or projects relating to mining or heavy industry - Advantageous.
  • Undergraduate/Vacation work in a similar industry - Advantageous.
  • 1-2 years' experience as a Graduate in a similar industry - Advantageous.
  • Strong focus to develop a career in a mining and minerals engineering detailed design environment.
