The Construction and Engineering Department at Coleg Meirion Dwyfor is a forward‑thinking department offering courses in a range of disciplines. Teaching and learning take place with access to industry‑standard equipment and in modern facilities. The department has two sites – Hafan (Pwllheli) and CaMDA (Dolgellau) – both delivering Engineering qualifications.

The College is seeking a full‑time member of staff to join the Engineering side of the department. We are looking for a candidate with experience in product design, design and technology, physics or STEM who can be up‑skilled within the College. Candidates may transfer from industry or KS4/5 teaching and bring relevant professional experience. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced team of engineering lecturers and help deliver the Pearson BTEC National and Extended Diploma Level 3 programmes and the Pearson HNC Level 4 General Engineering qualification.

The role involves high‑quality teaching, continuous support for learners and contributing to the forward progress of the department.

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching, enable all learners to achieve to the best of their ability, and create effective learning opportunities.
  • Provide excellent extracurricular experiences for learners.
  • Maintain high standards of the provision, ensuring all support given aligns with the Group’s policies and procedures.
  • Support learners to succeed, challenging them to achieve their targets or higher.

Job Details

  • Salary: £33,595 – £51,931 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.
  • Place of work: Dolgellau.
  • Holiday entitlement: 46 days leave per annum, all normally observed public holidays, and up to five days efficiency closure days per annum.
  • Working pattern: 37 hours per week, 835 hours annual teaching time – 24 to 26 hours teaching per week, up to five hours per week working off site in agreement with manager.
  • Pension rights: Teachers Pension Scheme.
  • Contract type: Full Time Permanent.
