Grwp Llandrillo Menai was established in 2012 as a result of mergers between Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Menai and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor. It employs 2,000 staff and delivers courses to around 21,000 students, including over 1,500 higher education students, across Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire and Gwynedd. The Grwp aims to support the economy of North Wales by equipping local people with the skills and qualifications needed to ensure the competitiveness and success of the region.

The Grwp's wide range of courses, high quality learning experiences, first-class facilities and talented staff all contribute towards the achievement of these goals. Additional opportunities to study locally for degrees and professional qualifications enable more young people and mature learners to achieve their potential. A University Centre at the Rhos-on-Sea Campus provides fabulous facilities for the Grwp's Higher Education students. You will join a team of lecturers responsible for delivering education in Further Education and/or Higher Education, on Health and Social Care and Childcare courses. Approximately 200 students study bilingually within the Health and Care Department across the two campuses in Dolgellau and Pwllheli. We offer Level 2 and Level 3 courses including Health and Social Care and Childcare and an Access to Higher Education (Health Care), Level 4 to Level 6 Health and Social Care course, and the Welsh Baccalaureate.

Applications are particularly welcomed from individuals who have recent experience working in nursing / health care / social work / social care / Children's care and development - roles where you have a sound understanding of current legislation, policy and contemporary issues in the Children's Development and Education sector or Healthcare sector. The successful candidate will be expected to teach on the Further Education and/or Higher Education courses in line with their area of expertise.

Your duties would include the preparation and delivery of engaging lectures for our developing students; along with administration, assessment and quality assurance practices associated with these duties. Our department's success is measured by the high-quality teaching and opportunities we provide to our learners. In the Summer 2025 Health and Social Care A-Level results, our students achieved a 100% success rate. Our students often achieve grades above the national comparator. In Pwllheli, 95% of students achieved grade AC in the Health and Social Care Diploma. 92% of students achieved grade AC in the Childcare qualification.

Contract Type: temporary, Maternity Cover

Weekly Hours: 30 hours per week. 677 hours annual teaching time 19 to 21 hours teaching per week. Up to 4 hours per week working off site in agreement with manager.

Annual Leave: 46 days leave per annum. All normally observed public holidays, determined annually. Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually. Part Time contracts will receive a pro rata entitlement to the above.
