It employs 2,000 staff and delivers courses to around 21,000 students, including over 1,500 higher education students, across Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire and Gwynedd. The Grwp aims to support the economy of North Wales by equipping local people with the skills and qualifications needed to ensure the competitiveness and success of the region.

Students study full-time level 2 and 3 courses with the possibility of completing an apprenticeship with a suitable employer. These tasks follow a scheme of work that develops during term time to establish students' competence so they meet the requirements of the course.
The department trains students in various aspects of agriculture mainly related to the local industry, Dairy cattle, beef cattle or sheep production.
- Weekly Hours - 29.5 hours per week
- Weeks per Year - 36 weeks
- Annual Leave - 28 days leave per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years continuous service (01 September to 31 August).
- All normally observed public holidays, determined annually.
- Part Time contracts will receive a pro rata entitlement to the above.
- Term Time contracts will receive a pro rata entitlement to the above paid as part of annual salary.
