Based in Livingston, Grw Talents client comprises of a group of European companies engaged in the design, development, manufacture and distribution of analytical systems, life science equipment and laboratory instruments with operations dating a number of years. They design, develop, supply and support Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry product lines for a range of markets including forensics, food quality, environmental, pharma and life sciences. The company maintains a global infrastructure to support sales around the world. Manufacturing is in both the Netherlands and Livingston.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, in this role you will manage Financial Operations (AP, AR, Payroll and Credit Control) and play an active role in producing monthly Management Accounting information with commentary and analysis to support your findings. You will have proactive relationships with the business to communicate key information and to business partner with them to a high level.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing and other transactions.
  • Oversee financial department employees.
  • Contract outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments and other financial needs as necessary.
  • Track the company financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
  • Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company.
  • Research and analyse financial reports and market trends.
  • Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short term decision making.
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports.
  • Present financial reports to board members, stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings.
  • Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
  • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Accounting, Business Finance or a related field along with experience in a finance role within a manufacturing environment. You should have the ability to identify opportunities and take advantage of them and of managing accounting, budgets, cashflow and reviewing cost reduction strategies. A highly competitive salary and benefits/bonus package tailored to your experience is on offer for the right candidate. Hours of work 37.5 hours per week. The Company operates a flexible working week.
