Our client is a well-established and growing electronics manufacturing company based in East Kilbride, delivering high-quality products and solutions to customers across a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Planner to join the Supply Chain team and play a key role in coordinating production schedules, material planning, and project delivery.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Planner will be responsible for coordinating project scheduling, material planning, and production workflows across multiple product lines within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Production teams to ensure customer delivery commitments are met while maintaining efficient use of resources and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning & Scheduling
    • Develop, maintain, and monitor production schedules and project plans using ERP systems.
    • Coordinate workflow across production lines and product groups to support customer delivery requirements.
    • Ensure production plans are aligned with business priorities, capacity, and resource availability.
    • Monitor progress and proactively address scheduling challenges.
  • Material & Resource Planning
    • Plan and manage material requirements to ensure the timely availability of components and resources.
    • Identify manpower, equipment, and material needs to support production demands.
    • Monitor inventory levels and support stock optimisation activities while maintaining operational continuity.
    • Work to improve inventory performance and material availability.
  • Procurement & Supply Chain Coordination
    • Liaise closely with Procurement teams to track purchase orders, supplier deliveries, shortages, and lead times.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to minimise supply chain risks and material delays.
    • Support effective inventory management and material flow processes.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting
    • Track and analyse key operational KPIs, including: Schedule Adherence, On-Time Delivery (OTD), Inventory Turns, Material Availability, Production Plan Accuracy.
    • Produce planning and performance reports for management teams.
    • Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve operational performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
    • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement teams to align priorities and resources.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning accuracy, workflow efficiency, ERP utilisation, and supply chain performance.
    • Contribute to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and reduce delays.

You should have previous experience in a Planning, Production Planning, Project Planning, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing Planning role, ideally with experience working within an electronics manufacturing, engineering, or complex manufacturing environment. You'll need a strong understanding of production scheduling, material planning, and inventory management principles and have experience using ERP/MRP systems (Epicor experience would be advantageous). You'll also be proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools. With the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
