Based in the beautiful Scottish Borders (circa 1 hour south of Edinburgh), GRW Talent\'s client is a well established global manufacturer providing solutions to the power, telecom and data centre markets. They have two sites in Scotland and form part of an international business stretching into Europe, the USA and Middle-East. The group is undergoing extensive growth and change right now. To help facilitate this, they now need to recruit a Supply Chain Manager.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Development Director and as part of the Site Leadership Team, the Supply Chain Manager will lead and improve all supply chain activities across two Scottish sites; including procurement, production planning, logistics, and customer service. This role ensures that materials, information, and products flow efficiently from suppliers through to customers, achieving high levels of delivery performance, inventory control, and customer satisfaction.
The role requires a strong leader who can develop strategy, manage teams across multiple disciplines, and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and service performance. Excellent stakeholder management and communication is essential. Key responsibilities will include:
Develop and implement the site supply chain strategy to support manufacturing and business objectives.
Ensure alignment between procurement, planning, logistics, and customer service teams.
Define and monitor key supply chain KPIs to drive operational efficiency and performance improvement.
Collaborate with senior leadership to support demand forecasting, capacity planning, and cost control initiatives.
Work closely with solutions and product line management to support new product introductions and change control.
Oversee the demand and production planning processes to ensure materials availability and schedule adherence.
Manage inventory levels across the business to balance working capital with service requirements.
Develop and implement inventory policies and cycle count programs to ensure inventory accuracy across both sites.
Drive MRP/ERP accuracy and data integrity to support system-driven planning decisions (PFEP).
Work with the group category management team to enact the global strategy at site level and ensure delivery of local cost savings
Track and report supplier performance with a focus on on-time delivery, lead time adherence, and responsiveness.
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations, including warehousing, transport, and freight management.
We are looking for a proven Supply Chain Manager. Ideally, you are educated to degree calibre and/or hold relevant professional CIPS qualifications (MCIPS/APICS). Candidates will have worked in a volume driven production / manufacturing environment and ideally will have first hand experience using SAP ERP (or other relevant ERP systems) platforms to manage the procurement and planning functions. We would be especially keen to hear from candidates who have worked in high SKU driven production environments and those where NPI / NPD and change is constant.
Given the role is based across two sites in the Scottish Borders, the client will need presence on site. They are open to a hybrid working style, where you can work from home (possibly Monday and Friday) and be onsite Tues-Thurs inclusive.
