Headquartered in Hamilton, Grw Talent's client is building out a high-volume electronic probe test card production and assembly business. Already employing over 100 heads, they continue to grow in Scotland, USA and Asia. They now need to make the key hire of a Production Technician.

They have an opportunity for a skilled Backshift Production Technician to join the team. Reporting to the Production Lead, you will support the efficient assembly, testing, and maintenance of probe cards and printed circuit assemblies. Note this is a backshift role working Monday to Thursday from 2pm to 10pm and on a Friday from 12pm to 7pm.

You will play a key role in operating high-precision electro-mechanical systems, ensuring equipment reliability, and maintaining quality standards throughout the production process. This role also involves diagnosing and repairing Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to component level, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining accurate production documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and calibrate manufacturing equipment for production runs
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on production machinery
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment faults to minimise downtime
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and adherence to specifications
  • Assist in the assembly and production of probe cards
  • Carry out in-process quality checks and report defects or discrepancies
  • Support process improvements to increase efficiency and product quality
  • Log maintenance activities, repairs, and troubleshooting actions
  • Record production and quality data using production management systems
  • Interpret schematic circuitry and components to support fault finding and repairs

Experience:

  • Ideally an HNC / HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
  • Some experience in electronic component testing
  • Strong electro-mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to debug to component level
  • Experience working with high-precision equipment and manufacturing processes

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of or certification to relevant IPC standards
