Founded in 1997 by a group of engineers, GRUPOTEC has evolved into a large multidisciplinary and international engineering and architecture company, and a leader in the photovoltaic energy sector. We are currently looking for an O&M Electrician to join our BESS and photovoltaic projects in the United Kingdom, specifically in the north of Anglesey (Wales). The selected candidate will be responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on photovoltaic installations in accordance with the O&M Manual. This includes inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing faults in low‑voltage systems, photovoltaic modules, trackers, cabling, and related components. Compliance with the organisation’s Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Management procedures will be essential.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of the photovoltaic installation in accordance with the O&M Manual, including photovoltaic modules, mounting structures, trackers, string combiner boxes (low voltage), cabling, inverters, measuring equipment, and communication systems, using hand tools, measuring instruments, thermal imaging cameras, etc.
- Diagnose and repair minor faults in low-voltage systems, photovoltaic modules, trackers, cabling, etc., carrying out minor corrective maintenance tasks.
- Conduct visual inspections of system components, identifying faults and defects and reporting findings to management.
- Maintain and inspect electrical components and equipment, including inverters, distribution panels, communication panels, and DC/AC protection panels, in accordance with maintenance manuals and schedules.
- Inspect and repair wiring, connectors, terminals, and related components.
- Complete work orders, attendance records, and digital documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist subcontractors for Medium and High Voltage works, overseeing and inspecting their activities.
- Ensure compliance with assigned responsibilities as outlined in the organisation’s management system documents (Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental Management).
Profile Required:
- Training in the electrical field or in renewable energy.
- BS 7671:2018 COURSE (18th Edition).
- JIB GOLD CARD or EQUIVALENT.
- Valuable or desirable training as HV Authorised Person.
- Health & Safety training (First Aid + EMSS CARD or CCNSG or CSCS card or SMSTS).
- At least 2 years of previous experience in PV/BESS projects performing the described functions (valued experience).
- Knowledge of PV and BESS plant equipment, current PV and BESS technologies, communications architecture, sensors, and actuators for PV and BESS plant control.
- Proficiency in English at an intermediate-advanced level (B2 or higher).
- Full UK driving licence.
