Our team of over 7,000 people in 8 countries (Spain, Portugal, Poland, UK, USA, Mexico, Chile and Brazil) develops and/or implements financial solutions across a broad spectrum of technologies (including Blockchain, Big Data and Angular among others) on all kinds of on-premise and cloud-based platforms.THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE Santander UK is looking for a Network Subject Matter Expert based out of Milton Keynes.We are seeking a Network SME to work alongside the Technical Service Manager (TSM) to ensure the network service is healthy, risks are being managed, and suppliers or engineering teams are delivering the expected outcome.The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating across operations, security, vendor, and service management teams to maintain the availability, resilience, and regulatory compliance of business-critical network services.The ideal candidate will have 5–10+ years of hands-on networking experience and be comfortable operating at both a technical and service-management level, supporting incident resolution, driving service improvements, overseeing governance processes, and managing supplier relationships.We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:Acting as the technical expert for network servicesReviewing service performance, incidents, problems, and changesAdvising the TSM on technical risks, priorities, and improvementsChallenging suppliers or support teams when service levels are not being metSupporting major incident resolution and root cause analysisAssessing the impact of network changes and projectsEnsuring network services align with business and operational requirementsProviding technical input for governance, reporting, and service reviewsWHAT YOU’LL BRINGOur people are our greatest strength. (Required)Experience in Routing and switching in BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP. (Required)Experience in SD-WAN, Firewalls, DNS, IPAM and Load Balancers. (Required)Proven background with exposure to Incident, Problem & Change Management. (Required)Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, including senior leadership and non-technical audiences. (Required)Experience in using ticketing and ITSM tools e.g., Jira, ServiceNow. (Required)Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to assess risks and propose practical solutions. (Required)EducationDegree in a relevant field (e.g., IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience) (Preferred)LanguagesSpanish (Preferred)Hard SkillsStrong understanding of enterprise networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN. (Required)Experience supporting critical network services within a complex enterprise environment. (Required)Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.
