To proactively manage a multiâdisciplined shift team to maintain all assets within the operational areas, optimize the utilization of the equipment, and deliver maximum volume at the right quality. Working closely with management to utilize resources effectively and efficiently while prioritizing health & safety, food safety, and quality at all times. Drive the identification and rootâcause analysis of equipment failures, bring equipment back into service quickly, and actively seek costâeffective improvements to site assets, enhancing efficiency and reliability. Coordinate the engineering team to foster a proactive mindset, minimize downtime, and support training and development of equipment/process/area/system owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct responsibility for the engineering-aligned craft and engineering asset technicians (mechanical and electrical).
- Demonstrate commitment to health and safety, ensuring twoâway communication of health and safety through safety habit discussions, observations, and risk triggers.
- Ensure the team is competent for activities and compliant with site ways of working by using GEMBAs and safety tours.
- Responsibility for food safety and product quality as defined by regulatory, Kraft Heinz, and local procedures; escalate any issues that may compromise safety or quality.
- Lead during emergency and abnormal situations.
- Own all aspects of team management, including performance reviews, absence, and time management.
- Ensure optimal allocation of engineering resources to maximize performance for the site, making deployment decisions based on priorities and coordinating with other centers as needed.
- Implement engineering improvements across assets and ensure actions deliver sustainably through rigorous review and change control.
- Drive the site reliability agenda: identify failure modes and trends, complete RCA processes, and deliver agreed actions to achieve key maintenance KPIs.
- Support site project and change initiatives as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with daily management systems.
- Accountable for managing the engineering budget within the financial plan, delivering value for money.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are recorded on SAP to the correct standard.
- Review previous job completion results, adjust current plans, and accommodate scheduled work.
- Support planning, critical information collection, organization, and execution of works, ensuring entries in SAP and proper accounting of store withdrawals.
- Use SAP and MII effectively to develop a planned maintenance strategy and support system development.
- Assess corrective notifications promptly, following the jobâinâaâbox process and ensuring correct parts.
- Implement and improve the KHMS MRE pillar.
- Manage OEMs and contractors to optimize asset care, coordinating activities with safety and quality considerations.
- Actively manage contract services and approve required permits for specific job tasks.
- Implement technical skills and people development programs (apprentice, graduate, adult) across all assets.
- Ensure delivery of the engineering maintenance plan with completion rates and signâoff compliance.
- Manage weekend maintenance and aligned engineers to utilize engineer hours fully.
- Maintain stores checkouts for all work orders completed on shift.
- Drive DRA completion through the weekend with aligned engineers.
- Actively manage labor to ensure the engineering plan is organized during sickness or absence.
- Ensure effective handover to key stakeholders following completion of maintenance works and weekend maintenance plans.
- Requirement to work on the job to support weekend work.
Expected Experience and Required Skills
- Ability to manage multiple engineering activities concurrently to successful completion.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation tasks for decision making.
