About the Role and what you will be doing: Are you highly organised, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Bid Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. Working under the guidance of the Tender Manager, you will develop and prepare comprehensive technical and economic proposals for both public and private sectors within the UK energy market. Working as a vital member of support team, your day-to-day will include:
- Analysing detailed tender documents (ITTs) to identify the specific Mechanical scope of work, equipment specs, and technical requirements.
- Organising preparation timelines and managing the submission process across complex bidding cycles spanning weeks or months.
- Conducting technical site visits to assess local ground conditions, constraints, and project viability first-hand.
- Building detailed economic budgets using high-level Excel, incorporating pricing from manufacturers, contractors, and delivery teams.
- Developing project construction schedules and cost projections in collaboration with our engineering and planning divisions.
- Collaborating with internal departments including Quality, Logistics, H&S, and Environment to gather critical tender compliance data.
- Analysing and comparing external supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure full alignment with tender specifications.
- Attending client clarification meetings and managing post-submission technical queries through to a successful project handover.

Contract: Full time, Permanent. Hours: 40 Hours (8am - 5pm)
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred (experience within construction or a CDM site environment is desirable).
- A degree in Engineering (Mechanical)
- Open to entry-level or individuals with a background in mechanical infrastructure, procurement, or planning.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office and MS Project for complex calculations and project scheduling.
- Knowledge of Spanish or other European languages (French, Italian, German, Portuguese) is desirable.
- Strong analytical capacity to evaluate technical specifications and calculate precise equipment, piping, and mechanical asset cost estimations.
- Exceptional organisational skills to successfully manage multiple high-pressure bidding deadlines simultaneously.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across engineering, safety, and commercial teams to coordinate compliance data.
- Full flexibility to travel occasionally to client meetings and various project site locations as required.
