Job Introduction
Are you a strategic leader with a passion for public service and operational excellence? We are looking for a Shared Service Manager Revenues to join our senior management team within the Revenues & Benefits Shared Service.
About The Role
As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of the Council Tax and Business Rates functions across our shared service. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams across multiple sites and remote settings, ensuring high performance, compliance, and excellent customer service.
You Will Also:
- Oversee the collection of over £200 million in revenues and support benefit payments exceeding £60 million.
- Lead on the administration and collection of Council Tax and National Non-Domestic Rates (NNDR).
- Ensure accurate maintenance of the tax base, collection fund records, and valuation lists.
- Drive performance, innovation, and continuous improvement across the service.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies and auditors.
- Support the Assistant Director and deputise as required.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a confident and experienced professional who can demonstrate:
- At least 5 years of relevant management experience in Revenues and/or Benefits.
- Strong knowledge of Council Tax, NNDR, and associated legislation.
- Proven leadership and team management skills across diverse operations.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- IRRV Technician qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
