Job Introduction
Are you a proactive, organised and people-focused leader who enjoys a fast-paced, performance-driven service environment? We are looking for someone like you to join our team! If we are a good fit for you, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects across the Planning Service, supporting the delivery of high-quality developments, driving service improvements and helping shape an effective, customer-focused planning support function.
What will you be doing?
- Leading and managing the Planning Support team to ensure high-quality, timely and effective service delivery relating to the validation of applications.
- Overseeing performance management and staff development.
- Providing guidance, support and problem-solving for staff and colleagues across the Planning Service.
- Contributing to service improvement projects, resource planning and the delivery of key performance indicators.
About You
As an ideal candidate, you will have:
- Knowledge and experience of the town and country planning system, particularly from a validation perspective.
- A degree or HND in management or a related discipline (a management qualification is desirable).
- Experience managing teams, allocating work and overseeing resources and budgets.
- Strong understanding of performance management and the use of computer information systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with customers, colleagues and elected members.
