Performance Objectives
- Hydrogen content testing
- Tensile Testing
- Vickers Micro‑hardness & Rockwell hardness testing
- Grain size Tests
- Bend test
- Potting‑up & polishing samples for Metallographic testing
- Alpha Case Testing
- Intergranular Attack Testing
- Heat Affected Zone Testing
- Daily and Weekly Analysis of chemical process tanks, calculating & recommending additions of solution top‑ups / New make‑up
- Manage laboratory stock levels, obtain quotes, order consumables, book goods in
- Support test piece preparation (punching, cutting, drilling etc.)
- Housekeeping duties
- Participate in laboratory audits both internal and external
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc.)
- Operator overchecks
- Internal Calibration of equipment
- Archive/Storage of Test pieces
Person Specification
- Degree educated in a material science or minimum of 3 years working in a material testing laboratory.
- Working in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to manage your time efficiently
- Working with multiple stakeholders
Desirable
- Knowledge of aerospace quality management systems
