Environmental & Sustainability Coordinator
Join the Environmental & Sustainability Coordinator role at Grundon Waste Management.
Hours: 9.00 to 17.00, although due to the nature of the role some flexibility may be required.

Reporting into the Head of Environment and Sustainability you will play a key role in driving our mission forward by overseeing the accurate collection, analysis, and management of energy and carbon data, contributing to strategies and initiatives aimed at reducing energy use and carbon emissions, and supporting the delivery of the company’s broader sustainability strategy.
What will you do
Energy:
- Analyse energy consumption data, conduct internal audits, and provide recommendations for savings.
- Support implementation, maintenance, and auditing of ISO50001 across the business.
- Liaise with contractors, site managers, and DNOs on grid capacity, new connections, metering, and site plans.
- Assist with energy supply contracts, billing accuracy, and data preparation for reviews and reporting.
- Attend site meetings with contractors, managers, and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), liaising on grid capacity modifications and new connections, and preparing site plans and Single Line Diagrams for DNO applications.
- Install electricity meters when necessary and ensure they are maintained.
Carbon:
- Manage and report carbon data, including annual Scope 1–3 footprints, statutory reports (ESOS, SECR), and customer/supplier requirements.
- Drive delivery of the carbon reduction strategy by engaging suppliers and supporting low-carbon projects.
- Contribute to sustainability reporting, including the annual sustainability report and tender submissions.
- Work collaboratively across teams to support compliance and deliver on carbon and sustainability goals.
- Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including health and safety and employment.
- Any other duties, such as ad hoc projects, as requested by the job holder’s Manager or the Board of Directors that are within the skills and capabilities of the job holder.

About You
- Degree in Environmental Science (or related field).
- Minimum 2 years’ commercial experience in energy, carbon management, or sustainability.
- Skilled in data management, interpretation, and report production.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and carbon accounting (all scopes).
- Strong IT skills with experience using databases; CAD experience desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to Health & Safety, professional development, and continuous improvement.
- Full UK driving licence.
