Reporting into the Resource & Recovery Site Manager/ Shift Supervisor you will play a key role in driving our mission forward by ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Recycling Facility. This includes minimising downtime to meet KPIs, maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, and providing cover when required. You will also support any other duties necessary for the effective running of the facility.
What will you do
- Operate and inspect mobile plant daily, ensuring safe and efficient performance, and carry out scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Inspect all incoming waste deliveries to ensure compliance with site and legislative requirements.
- Report and document any non‑compliant waste through accurate non‑conformance reporting.
- Load recovered materials into containers, curtain siders, and vehicles for onward shipment, completing all required documentation and photographing loads in line with regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the team and support supervisors/managers in maintaining a safe, clean, and well‑organised workplace.
- Take personal responsibility for health, safety, and environmental standards, including correct use of PPE and promptly reporting any breaches, accidents, incidents, non‑compliances, or near misses.
- Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including health and safety and employment.
- Any other duties, such as ad hoc projects, as requested by the jobholder’s Manager or the Board of Directors that are within the skills and capabilities of the jobholder.

About You
- Competent and qualified at operating mobile plant – forklift, loading shovel, 360 excavator
- Basic understanding of the waste/recycling industry, ideally with experience in processing plants and baler operations
- Strong timekeeping, attendance, and reliability
- Ability to work safely in busy, noisy environments with good awareness of Health & Safety legislation
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Flexibility with working hours to support smooth plant operations
- Accuracy in completing paperwork and willingness to contribute ideas for improvement
