The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Hours: 33 or 44 hours per week, depending on shift pattern.

Shift Pattern: 12 hr shifts, working 4 days on, 4 days off, alternating between Early shifts (06:00 – 18:00) and Late shifts (08:00 – 20:00). However, everyone works 06:00 – 18:00 if their shift falls on a Saturday/Sunday.

Reporting to the Waste Facility Manager, you will support the smooth day-to-day operation of the site by working closely with the Shift Supervisor to sort and process waste at our clinical waste facility, including loading trailers for transfer to other disposal sites.

What will you do:

  • Operate plant and equipment to process clinical waste, including weighing, recording throughput, visually inspecting waste, and ensuring correct storage in designated bins and areas.
  • Support routine maintenance of plant and equipment by completing accurate checks and logs and promptly reporting any defects.
  • Assist with the acceptance, handling, and safe storage of waste.
  • Operate the bin wash machine to maintain high cleanliness standards, carrying out minor repairs where required.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all colleagues and visitors on site.
  • The ability to work extra hours to cover holidays and attend mandatory training.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures including health and safety and employment.
  • Any other duties, such as ad hoc projects, as requested by the job holder’s.
