Grundfos is offering a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our highly successful Industrial Distribution team of 7 in the UK as an Area Sales Manager for Industrial Distribution. This is a national external sales role covering Scotland, Northern England, and Northern Ireland, reporting to the Sales Manager, Industrial Distribution UK, I & Benelux. Our ideal candidate will be based near Glasgow or Edinburgh.
In this role, you will be responsible for yearly negotiations with Distribution Partners and act as the primary contact for this customer group to ensure high customer satisfaction and loyalty. You will also support and train Grundfos partners and open doors for new business opportunities. Establishing and maintaining long-term strategic relationships with customers to drive Industrial Distribution sales is key.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and grow sales within your area of responsibility independently.
- Build market knowledge to successfully drive commercial activities.
- Gain knowledge of Grundfos solutions and explain their benefits to different customer groups within the organization.
- Identify stakeholders and utilize appropriate approaches to drive sales.
- Maintain a quality opportunity pipeline and achieve a strong hit rate.
- Introduce new products and solutions to customers.
- Monitor and report on pipeline, order intake, sales, profitability, and manage debt collections within your area.
- Share knowledge with the team and take responsibility for your own competence development.
- Negotiate annually with Distribution Partners.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote a customer-centric and collaborative company culture.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Bachelor\’s Degree or equivalent experience with demonstrated expertise in key account/customer success management.
- Technical knowledge of pumps and their applications.
- Commercial sales experience.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in account management and stakeholder engagement.
- Industry experience within the pump sector, preferably in industrial applications.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across organizational levels.
- Passion for developing people.
