As our new Proposal Engineer, you will be developing tailored technical and commercial proposals that connect Grundfos pump and water technology solutions with customer needs, ensuring every bid is competitive, accurate, and compelling.
What you will be doing
As a key part of the Commercial Proposals team, you will create impact by:
- Collaborating closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality proposals that win business and drive sustainable water solutions forward.
- Preparing and delivering accurate technical and commercial proposals in response to customer inquiries, tenders, and RFQs.
- Performing hydraulic selections and system sizing to identify optimal Grundfos product solutions for each application.
- Collaborating with sales teams, product specialists, and project managers to define scope, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Reviewing customer specifications and ensuring proposals comply with technical requirements and applicable standards.
- Maintaining proposal documentation, pricing databases, and CRM records to support efficient bid management.
- Identifying opportunities for value engineering and presenting alternative solutions that optimize cost and performance.
What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a detail-oriented technical professional with strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a drive to deliver winning proposals in a fast-paced environment. We would also imagine that you have:
- 2+ years of experience in proposal engineering, technical sales support, or applications engineering within pumps, mechanical installations in the water industry.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and pump selection.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with selection/sizing software tools.
It is a plus if you also:
- Have experience with Grundfos products or similar centrifugal pump platforms.
- Familiarity with CRM and CPQ tools such as Salesforce.
- Knowledge of industry standards (ANSI/HI, API, ISO) and tendering processes.
