As a Business Development Manager, you will be the key driver of opportunity creation and customer engagement. You'll present and explain advanced water treatment solutions using deep technical and business insight, collaborate internally to propose tailored offers, and ensure customer needs are met while maintaining long‑term relationships. You will actively participate in sales initiatives with cross‑unit or national impact and serve as the primary contact for designated clients, developing the customer base and uncovering new business potential for Grundfos Water Treatment products and services. This person will be covering the North of England and Scotland.
Responsibilities
- Follow the market (customers, verticals, applications) in respect of new opportunities for selling water treatment solutions into data centre and other industrial applications (Food & Beverage, Chemical, Semiconductors, etc.)
- Establish new accounts by identifying potential customers, planning and organizing sales calls and customer visits, especially with consultants and contractors in the Building Services Industry
- Identify new competitors and provide comparison analysis if needed
- Lead sales efforts and collaborate with internal teams on customized water treatment solutions
- Negotiate contracts and close deals that make a real impact
- Represent Grundfos at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions
- Drive innovation by promoting modernisations and process optimisations
- Keep projects organised and documented in our systems (CRM, ERP)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or similar technical background
- Experience selling CAPEX engineering projects through end‑users or building contractors
- 3+ years of experience in customer project sales
- Proficiency in job‑relevant tools (SAP, CRM, MS Office)
- Having a clear understanding of water treatment processes or similar
- Good verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills
