Help build the future of AI-powered mining. We're partnering with a well-funded mining technology start-up that's redefining how geological decisions are made through explainable artificial intelligence. This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground floor as the company's Founding Project Geologist, working alongside an experienced leadership team to develop technology that has the potential to transform mineral exploration, resource estimation and mine operations worldwide.

About the Technology

The platform combines geological, geochemical, geophysical and drilling data into a single explainable AI model, enabling mining companies to:

  • Build more accurate ore body models
  • Quantify and visualise geological uncertainty
  • Improve confidence in resource estimation
  • Reduce drilling requirements by up to 40–50%
  • Accelerate projects from exploration through to production

Unlike "black box" AI solutions, the platform is designed to support geologists with transparent, defensible insights that improve decision-making across the entire mining value chain.

The Opportunity

As the Founding Project Geologist, you'll become the company's geological authority and play a critical role in shaping both the product and the business. This is far more than a traditional geology position; you'll work at the intersection of geology, technology and product development, ensuring real-world mining challenges are translated into innovative software solutions. You'll work directly with founders and senior leaders whose backgrounds include organisations such as BHP, Snowden and Seequent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the geological subject matter expert across the business
  • Work closely with software engineers and data scientists to develop AI-driven geological workflows
  • Help shape product strategy and technical direction
  • Engage with mining companies to understand industry challenges and validate solutions
  • Translate geological requirements into scalable technology
  • Support pilot projects and customer implementations
  • Influence the future roadmap of a globally scalable mining technology platform

About You

We're interested in speaking with experienced geologists who combine strong technical expertise with curiosity for innovation. You'll likely have:

  • Experience in exploration geology, resource geology, mine geology or consulting
  • Strong understanding of geological modelling and resource estimation workflows
  • Experience interpreting drilling, geological, geochemical and geophysical datasets
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and commercial discussions
  • A passion for technology and improving how geological decisions are made
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning or mining software is advantageous but not essential.

Why Join?

  • Become one of the first technical hires in a fast-growing mining technology company
  • Shape a product that could fundamentally change how the mining industry models ore bodies
  • Work with an exceptional founding team with deep mining and technology experience
  • Receive founding-level equity (0.25–1%), giving you genuine ownership in the company's future success
  • Hybrid working based in London
  • Opportunity to influence both product strategy and company direction from day one

If you're excited by the opportunity to combine world-class geology with cutting-edge AI technology, and want to help build the next generation of mining software, we'd love to hear from you.
