This role supports both Import and Export operations within a secure, regulated warehouse environment. Reporting into warehouse leadership, the Warehouse Operative plays a key role in ensuring freight is handled safely, accurately, and in line with industry, customs, and quality standards — with particular focus on temperature-controlled and pharmaceutical cargo.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse & Compliance
- Operate within a HM Customs-controlled and bonded warehouse environment
- Adhere to strict security requirements within a regulated airfreight facility
- Follow internal quality systems and standard operating procedures
- Ensure compliance with EU GDP (2013/C 343/01) guidelines for the storage and transport of pharmaceutical products
- Maintain warehouse temperature monitoring systems, including daily records, calibration, and equipment checks
- Ensure temperature-controlled transport requirements are met across air, road, and sea movements
- Monitor, record, and report any temperature excursions during transit
- Prepare export shipments, including manifest checks, loading, and ULD build-up
- Break down, check in, and process import shipments (loose freight and ULDs)
- Conduct regular stock and freight-on-hand checks
- Carry out general warehouse duties to support daily operations
- Safely operate forklift trucks, including gas counterbalance, diesel counterbalance, and electric reach trucks
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Reach and Counterbalance forklift licences
- Aviation Security Level 1 qualification
- Previous experience working within a bonded or customs-controlled warehouse
- Verifiable employment history covering the previous 5 years
