Job Purpose: A yard operative needs to be willing to drive mobile plant and learn the use of bagging machines on site. They need to be able to work in all weather conditions and work within a highly motivated team, with good communication as fundamental to the role. Manual work is required daily.

Main Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe, compliant and efficient production of bagged aggregates.
  • Ensure high standards of health and safety at all times, reporting any issues, accidents and near misses to line manager.
  • Work as part of a high-performing team to produce bagged aggregates for customers, with focus on quality and production.
  • Operate a forklift truck, depending on site requirements.
  • Completion of fixed plant and mobile plant inspections.
  • Bag aggregates in plastic and bulk bags to the required target levels, with relevant training provided.
  • Net and sheet lorries as required by the line manager.
  • General housekeeping duties as requested by the line manager.
  • Good communication with all drivers, yard operatives and delivery drivers.
  • Responsible for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant workplace.

Knowledge, Training And Experience Required To Do The Job: Good knowledge of Health and Safety (preferable). Training will be given; experience in the above areas will be an advantage.
